Fairlane Tool Company Attains AS9100 Certification

– Signifying Their Commitment to Continuous Improvement and Customer Satisfaction

Fraser, Michigan (February 24 th, 2011) Fairlane Tool Company has announced that its Masonic Rd. facility has successfully achieved AS 9100 Implementation and Certification.

The Masonic Rd. operation produces machined components for the Aerospace and Defense industries as well as for the Heavy Equipment, Off-Road and Automotive Industries.

“Achieving this certification is a significant accomplishment for our Masonic Rd. operation,” said Michael Gordon Sr., Fairlane Tool Co. senior vice president. “It demonstrates our commitment to continuous improvement and customer satisfaction and the fact that w e take pride in our manufacturing expertise, high quality standards and creative process capabilities “

To get the process started Fairlane Tool brought in a new Quality Manager that had the experience necessary to design and implement a Quality System that not only worked for Fairlane Tool but also met the requirements of AS9100. After an initial evaluation of the systems that were already in place the quality manager worked with the rest of the team to bring those systems together and tune them up. After the improved system was implemented Fairlane Tool selected BSI as their registrar of choice. BSI sent their auditor in to do a stage I assessment of the system shortly followed by a stage II assessment. Passing both audits successfully meant that not only was the improved system implemented but that it was effective.

“The fact that it took us only a few months to complete the implementation and get certified shows that we have been doing the right things all along and we just needed to bring it all together.” Fred Malburg, production supervisor.

In addition to achieving certification for AS9100 Fairlane Tool also received certification for ISO 9001:2008 with design.
